Promise of Spring

It's starting been cold here lately. Cold enough to run the wood stove - and to THINK about turning the heat on. I'm pretty frugal when it comes to heat though. I'm of the mind that if you are cold put a sweater on. Or slippers. or socks. But DON'T touch the thermometer if you want to come back with your fingers attached.

Please don't ask me about being frugal with art supplies though, LoL! If a little paint is good then a LOT must be better ;-D

Anyway, enough of the silliness. Since it is COLD and I have put my flower beds to bed for the winter I have been thinking about finishing this art journal page that I started about a month ago.

It was a demonstration that I was doing for students in the art journal class at Right at Home Scrapbooking. I finally had some time to add bright colors and other details to it. I love it. Really. I think enough to scan it and make a NEW iPhone case for myself. (oh, by the way -- I made some new things and listed them in my Zazzle Shop.  You might be interested in some of the new designs from my Art Journal on Cards and Cases! Check out the link in my sidebar on the left!)

It still needs some words, but I'm pretty sure that they are going to be "the Promise of Spring"
I don't know about you, but when I see daffodils they make me think of spring. Which, is about 5 months away right now. eeeeek, I think it's going to be a LONG winter since December hasn't arrived yet!
Well, I'm off to put a sweatshirt on, it's freezing in here! Thanks for stopping by, have a GREAT Day.

A Few MORE Viewtainer Ideas

I forgot I had this post in Draft to share -- so what better day than today to share it with you! A few more things you can do with Viewtainer, in case you needed more ideas!

In the photo below you can see: The long skinny one in the front is perfect to keep my brushes safe in my Art Journal Travel Case, the one behind that holds tacks for my bulletin board, and the long one behind that holds pencils and colored pencils for my Art Journal Travel Case. It keeps them safe and the points don't break in my bag.

In the back row -- from left to right: Twine for my Garden with the twine coming out the hole in the top keeping it from getting unraveled, screws, bolts, nails and leftover handy stuff from the junk drawer, a bank for all my poker winnings and lastly a little first aid kit sized perfectly for my glove compartment. You never know when you'll need a band-aid and some first-aid cream.

So, if you haven't tried Viewtainer products, I highly recommend you check them out, by following this link to their website: http://www.viewtainer.com/  I think you'll be amazed at how versatile and cool this product is!

Well that's it, thanks for stopping by, have a GREAT day -- and avoid the turkey rush -- eat fish. :-D

Do you See the Potential?

I have always thought of myself as a pessimist. But lately I have been questioning that. Is there such a thing as a pessimistic optimist?
Would that make me a optipest?
Or a pestiopt?

ha ha. All kidding aside, what brought these thoughts to mind this week were these buttons. Yes, buttons. I bought the cutest coat at Christopher Banks. It was on clearance. Less than half price. And I loved it, but I hated the buttons. HATED them. My husband hates it when I say hate. I REALLY, REALLY DISLIKED THEM, ha ha.

They were everything I am not. Glitzy. Big. Glittery. And they didn't go with the cute fitted khaki jacket. And they really didn't go with me. jeans. clogs. t-shirt. scarf. nothing glitzy. no makeup. no fancy nails. just me. not glittery.

I loved the jacket -- and I could see the POTENTIAL of it. I could actually close my eyes and see the jacket with buttons that I liked. How cute it would be with buttons that fit my style.

and the style of the jacket that I wanted it to be.
So I ran down to JoAnn's and bought $25.00 worth of buttons that fit my style. ha ha. Any savings I was happy about when buying the jacket were COMPLETELY GONE!

But you have to admit, it's one cute jacket now! Perfect for a casual Thanksgiving with family! or a movie date with my handsome husband. Or shopping with friends. You name it, I can't wait to wear it!

While it may be a stretch to call myself an Optimist -- I think I am rightly justified in saying I am a POSSIBILITARIAN! Or a POTENTIALIST!

Yes, I really like the sound of Potentialist! That sounds just about right.

thanks for stopping by, I hope you wake up today and see the Potential of Having a GREAT Tuesday!

Before I get started with the story today, I will say that this month I have been very short on time so I haven't narrated for you this time. Maybe when I have a minute I can get that done, but for now I hope you will be happy with the pictures and story to read on your own!

Elldridge, Hermione and Boots were anxiously waiting for a Telegram from Forget-Me-Knot about how meeting Alexander’s parents had gone.
the count and countess.
They hadn’t been able to afford the expensive fare to cross the ocean to attend the ceremony so Knottie had gone alone. Well, she wasn’t really alone as Elizabeth was there with her family and of course Winston, Newton and Cordelia were there as well.
Elldridge couldn’t help but get a little angry. Of course they were there, she thought. They were related to that Alexander boy through Cordelia’s husband’s family. She will never stop being angry with her sister for introducing her favorite child to that handsome nephew of hers.
Just then she noticed the Telegram Delivery Boy approaching her from his buggy. She couldn’t help but think, I wonder how he knew she was on the beach.

  • There are no rules to the story itself- it can be funny, sad, uplifting, breathtaking- WHATEVER
