My Artful Life Planner -- April Pages

Well, it certainly looks like Spring has finally sprung around here -- we had some lovely weather over the weekend with warm temps and a bit of sun. It was so welcomed as I was about to lose my mind with the cold and snow! At this point if it snows again it will melt quickly due to the longer and WARMER days.

It's also that time of the month -- where I join Tina Walker (A Dog's Life) to share our completed pages from My Artful Life Planner with you.

For this page, I thought I'd do a little step by step -- so you can see my process. For this page I used mostly DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics -- and I am totally in love with them. I did supplement the color with some Color Burst Watercolor Pigment from Ken Oliver, which I also love.

For the blank page that is included in the planner,  I colored this page that I had prepared in February. I used a a real mixed bag of mediums on this one: colored pencil, watercolor, fluid acrylics, a gold gel pen and my trusty and beloved Tombow Dual Tip Brush Markers.

I started out with Cerulean Blue Fluid Acrylic and watered it down to paint the background.

Color Burst Orange added a nice pop of color.

And then back to the Fluid Acrylic, I just love this green color.

Sakura Gelly Pens are perfect for a spot of opaque color.

Next up, Purple Color Burst.

And finally some yellow fluid acrylic, with final touches of gold with a Uni-Ball Pen.

And that's it -- coloring the pages is simple and fun - and depending on the medium you use -- very transportable!

I also added a tip in (page on the left below) and prepped the next grid page for April. I attach the tip-in pages with a patterned scotch washi on the outside and invisible tape on the inside. I like adding them as they give me a place to use like a notebook and I can hide notes etc that I don't necessarily want people to see if I'm sharing it.

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a lovely week and see you next month! Check out Tina's pages here, on her newly designed website:

Birthday Wishes

My sweet friend Kathie DeLuca sent me these pictures this week of a card she made using my Fall Release of Stamps with Art Gone Wild, and I just have to take a minute to gush about how gorgeous it is.

I love it so much.

She used the Clematis Cling Rubber Stamp (AGC2-2742) and embossed the design with clear embossing powder and then went to town watercoloring the background and flowers.

To give the flowers some dimension and gloss she added some Glossy Accents to the petals.

A little twine, a sentiment and some ink and this is an amazing and gorgeous card.

Thank you sweet friend for sharing this with me, and how you created it. It's lovely! Check out Kathie's blog here, Kooky DeLucy!

Thanks for dropping by, have a lovely weekend and a HAPPY Easter with your friends and family!
