Christmas in July

I'm so excited, while I was on vacation Amanda from Stampington emailed me the spread of my article that will be in the Somerset Holidays and Celebrations. I'm so excited with the way it looks, they have such an amazing graphic designer!! This is a 4 page spread and I think it will be available in September!! If this is any indication of how pretty this issue will be I can't wait to get mine!!

It's hot and balmy here - and I'm not complaining ONE bit! I am happy for the sun, for the heat and for the rain to not be falling - at the moment at least! I hope you enjoy your day, we've got running around to do today. I've already made Blueberry Syrup and gone to yoga. Still have blueberry jam and grocery shopping and a few other things to do! I guess my days of rest and relaxation for the rest of the summer might not happen any time this week!

Thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoy your day!

A Photo Collage of our Vacation

thought I'd share a few pictures from our vacation....on the first or second day we saw this beautiful rainbow, which turned out to be a double rainbow....and then a little while later saw another set of double rainbows. I've never seen them this virbrant and pretty!

No trip to Rangeley is complete without a trip to Height of the Land. Though most people don't sleep on the rocks! :-)

We went panning for gold in the Swift River....and actually found several small pieces. THAT was fun, though the boy who was most excited about it quit first because he doesn't have the patience for it!

The hubs was very patient, but he only found tiny pieces! My Mom and I found the two best pieces.....it was fun but it didn't take long for my wrist to start hurting.

We spent a lot of time sitting on the dock while the boy swam in the frigid waters!

We took a great hike up Bald Mountain. About 2 miles up, it wasn't too steep and there was a fire tower at the top. The boy took this picture at the top of the tower, isn't that a cool cloud formation?? !!

We got really muddy, look at my right foot, it's completely covered in mud!

The two weeks away were very nice, but I really missed my normal routine - which I'm very happy to be back at. Today we went and picked 9 quarts of high bush blueberries. I plan on freezing some (well I'll be picking some more for that) and making blueberry jam and syrup tomorrow in between yoga and grocery shopping!

Well, thanks for visiting, hope to spend some time making some thank you cards tomorrow too! Enjoy your Wednesday....halfway to the weekend!

I'm Back....and I've got a cool Card Box to share!!

We're back from our vacation at Rangeley Lake, laundry is caught up, emails are weeded through and answered.....but I haven't had a chance to edit anyof my photos, there's plenty of time for that though!

Today, I thought I would share something that I made a couple weeksago for a friend, her name is Elizabeth. She was celebrating her 40th birthday and a bunch of the girls on the EK Success Creative Team got together and either made of got 40 things for her....I made a fun card box and some cards as my contribution.

I'm really happy with the way it turned out! I just used one of those photostorage boxes that you can pick up at Jo Ann's or wherever. I think she liked it to, plus it was full of cards - between all of us we filled it with 40 cards!!

Hope you enjoyed my box, and thanks for visiting!

Refreshing

He says the water is great, but I think it goes beyond refreshing to what one would call FRIGID!!

Height of the Land

We took a drive up to the Height of the Land today then down to Coos Canyon to learn how to pan for gold. The boy wants to go back and spend the day doin' it. I think we'll pack a picnic and do that one day this week if it doesn't rain. The hubs can fly fish and the boy and I will get rich.

Goin' to the Lake!

These pictures were taken last summer by my brother's wife of our children playing in a lake nearby. I thought it would be appropriate to share them with you today since we're headed to the lake for a couple weeks, Rangeley Lake to be exact. I'm hoping the sun will stay out for a while....and I have tomatoes, beans and peas in my garden when I get home....see you on the flip side!

Recycled Pencil Holder and Baubles

A while back I invited you all to check out a new place on the internet called Spotted Canary. It's been a big part of the work that I've been doing since the beginning of the year and I'm really proud of the way that it has all come together.

I also wanted to share a couple new of projects that are up over there, at Spotted Canary! I had so much fun making the baubles. It's pretty easy, and I've even taken it to the boy's 4th grade class and they made some too. If you have a minute, check out my projects over there. You'll find the instructions and supply lists for these two projects that I've done, plus many others by me and my fellow team members! I hope you'll visit and be sure to stop back and let me know what you think!!

Have a GREAT rest of your day. The sun is finally shining, though I've got some Spotted Canary projects to work on this afternoon so I won't be outside much!!

Pictures from the Re-Enactment and Washington D.C.

My boy was a Confederate Soldier, and they recognized him as coming all the way from Maine. It was a gorgeous setting. I just wish those campers, tents and cars were over the hill just a little bit more, then the picture would look REALLY authentic. My boy and his friend, a Union Soldier.
My boy and an unknown soldier from his regiment.
In front of an authentic tent, protecting the Colonel.
Trail of soldiers headed back to camp after the battle of Little Round Top.
A lovely summer evening.
Harper's Ferry in the very early morning.
My friend, her son and my son in DC. It was hot and we were waiting for our bus to take us back to Arlington.
Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
My boy and Lincoln.
Vietnam Veteran Memorial
As you can see we packed a LOT into our trip. A lot of things I didn't take pictures of because my camera was acting a little wonky on me. THANKS for visiting and i'll post a few more of my favorite pictures from the trip tomorrow!

Hybrid Pages

Sorry for my absence, seems like forever since I posted last, but it's only been 10 days! Since we got back from Virginia I've been so busy playing catch up - on email - housework - laundry and whatever else I got behind on that I haven't had a chance to post. (I also must admit that I got sucked into Facebook and have spent much of my spare time finding old friends and catching up that at the end of the night there was NO time left for this....)

I thought I'd share a new project that's up over at Spotted Canary. It's a hybrid page, for those of you that don't know what that means it's made with part digital AND part traditional scrapbooking. The digital part of this page is how I treated the images, you can get a tutorial over on the Spotted Canary website, plus see two other pages I made for this update.
(A little note, the Father's Day page was posted to my profile by mistake, it belongs to one of the other designers but I'm not sure who.)
